Congratulations to all those involved in the No. 22 Turbo Alternator project, which has today  (World Environment Day) been announced  as the winner of the 2018 BlueScope Environment Awards, Environmental Improvement Project.

After successful commissioning in Sep 2017 we have successfully harnessed the fuel energy from otherwise wasted gas flaring into electricity and managed to reduce carbon emissions from electricity purchases by over 34,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gases.

To put that in perspective it has the same effect as powering 10,000 homes with renewable energy.
