Engineering

Working at BlueScope gives you unique opportunities to work on diverse engineering projects. Our engineers work on everything from feasibility studies and detailed design development to installation and commissioning. 

You’ll also be exposed to innovative technologies and equipment covering all facets of engineering - from automation, electrical and robotics to chemical, materials, structural and mechanical. Manufacturing and operations

With over 50 facilities in Australia, we produce a wide range of products and solutions that we deliver to our customers via more than 50 distribution centres nationally.

We have a range of opportunities across trades, engineering, maintenance and continuous improvement through to warehousing logistics and dispatch - these can include experienced and entry-level roles - where we will support you with ongoing training and development in your career.

Research and innovation

Product innovation and emerging technologies are at the forefront of what we do. Our Research & Innovation teams conduct exciting studies to develop new and improved steel materials and systems. They deliver enhancements to the beauty, functionality and performance of BlueScope's range, including products such as COLORBOND® steel.

Sales and marketing

Working with the sales and marketing teams, you will be a part of our continuing success. Australian Steels Markets is a group within our Australian Steel Products business, accountable for and directly representing our hot- and cold-rolled products; developed at the Port Kembla Steelworks, these include our iconic brands COLORBOND® steel and TRUECORE® steel.

Graduates, cadets and apprentices

Our cadetship program creates opportunities for world-class experiences and paid on-the-job training while completing your degree. Cadetships provide a combination of part-time study and part-time work, where you will attend university classes one day per week.

Our apprenticeship programs give new entrants to the industry both employment and development opportunities across a range of disciplines.

As a graduate you'll rotate through various departments, gaining invaluable exposure across your fields of study. We provide a solid foundation towards understanding our business, customers and the communities in which we operate - taking your career into the future!
