Audible Noise - Slag Pit

Around 6:30pm this morning (Thursday 19th March 2020) there was a loud audible noise coming from the slag pit at the blast furnace at Port Kembla Steelworks.
There were no injuries, no impact to operations and only minor plant damage.
We believe the incident was caused by an unexpected water and metal interaction.
