BlueScope today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shell Energy Operations Pty Ltd (“Shell”) to work together to explore and develop renewable hydrogen projects at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steelworks in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia.
The collaboration encompasses two projects: a pilot renewable hydrogen electrolyser plant at the Steelworks and an Illawarra hydrogen hub concept
Today our Chief Executive Climate Change, Gretta Stephens, gave a keynote speech at the Impact X Summit 2021: Accelerating pathways to zero emissions.
The central theme was the importance of collaboration and the critical role the steel sector will play in the transition to net zero.
BlueScope and Rio Tinto have joined forces to explore options for low-emissions steelmaking at Port Kembla Steelworks in New South Wales. The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to research and design low-emissions processes and technologies for the steel value chain across iron ore processing, iron and steelmaking and related technologies.
On 14 September, BlueScope published its FY2021 Sustainability Report, Tax Contribution Report, and Modern Slavery Statement. Together with the Climate Action Report, these Reports demonstrate the progress we are making on our sustainability journey.
BlueScope today released its first Climate Action Report, which sets out our strategy and plans to address the decarbonisation challenge across our global operations.
