BlueScope was a sponsor of the Australia Week in China (AWIC) Gala Luncheon, attended by over 2000 business people and government officials from both China and Australia.
Addressing the guests, The Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP, Prime Minister of Australia, spoke of the enormous potential for increasing business between the two countries. “There will be even bigger gains in services,” he said. “Lawyers, educators, financial service providers, engineers, designers, planners, architects, all will find it now much easier to do business in China.”
The second annual Australia Week in China (AWIC), held from 11-15 April, was one of Australia’s largest ever business delegations to China.
AWIC 2016 comprised a range of events promoting trade, investment, education and tourism and designed to highlight the commercial opportunities underpinned by the China Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA), as well as the rise of an affluent middle class in China.
The AWIC 2016 program offered opportunities for networking with Chinese business, industry and government representatives through trade and investment seminars, meetings, site visits and product displays and promotions.
