Our Australian businesses
Australian Steel Products employs around 7,000 employees at approximately 100 sites, being a mix of large manufacturing plants, roll-forming facilities and distribution centres across Australia. We produce a wide range of steel products including slab, hot rolled coil and plate, cold rolled coil, zinc/aluminium alloy-coated ZINCALUME® steel, galvanised and pre-painted COLORBOND® steel. Our key focus is on higher value, branded products for the building and construction industry. Our operations incorporate the following facilities, businesses and brands.
Our steelmaking operations
Our Port Kembla Steelworks, is an integrated steelmaking operation with an annual production capacity of over 3 million tonnes of crude steel. Port Kembla Steelworks is the largest manufacturer and supplier of flat steel in Australia by volume and manufactures slab, hot rolled coil and plate products. In addition, we have two metallic coating and painting facilities located in Springhill, New South Wales and Western Port, Victoria, along with steel painting facilities in Western Sydney, New South Wales, and Acacia Ridge, Queensland.
BlueScope's branded products are market leaders in Australia, and include COLORBOND® steel, TRUECORE® steel, ZINCALUME® steel, and TRU-SPEC® steel.
The Australian Steel Products segment includes LYSAGHT® and FIELDERS® building products, Orrcon Steel® pipe and tube operations and steel distribution sites, and BlueScope Distribution across Australia. Learn more about our businesses and the people within them.
