Trees for Survival

New Zealand: Trees for Survival is an environmental education program which involves young people growing and planting native trees to help landowners revegetate erosion-prone land, improve stream flow and water quality, and increase biodiversity. New Zealand Steel has supported the nationwide Trees for Survival Charitable Trust since 2006.  Waiuku Primary School students went to a local farm to plant out over 500 small native 'Trees for Survival' seedlings they had raised at school in the plant-growing unit provided by New Zealand Steel.
