Thai - Laos Friendship Bridge

Thailand: BlueScope Steel in Thailand was proud to be a sponsor and active participant in an event which saw over 3000 people - including from Australia, Thailand, Laos - run a 5 km fun run across the first Thai - Laos Friendship Bridge in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Australia's diplomatic relations with Thailand and the Lao People's Democratic Republic in 2012. The Thai - Laos Friendship Bridge, the first major bridge across the lower Mekong, was constructed with funding from the Australian Government.  Opened in 1994, the bridge links the town of Nong Khai in Thailand with Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
