New Zealand Steel help clean up Karioitahi BeachThursday, July 4, 2013
New Zealand: Each year, New Zealand Steel employees and their families help clean up Karioitahi Beach. This year, the volunteers, armed with gloves and rubbish bags, covered 12 km of beach and, in addition to the car parts, broken glass and bits of plastic, more unusual finds included a sealed letter and a barrel of chemicals. New Zealand Steel presented the local lifesaving club with a cheque to support the club in making the beach a safer place. This event is a great example of business and the community working together to a common goal.
