Be healthy and stay healthy
BlueScope Malaysia has held two Fruit Days, when all employees and contractors were given one piece of fruit each.
James Wong, Vice President Health, Safety & Environment, initiated the campaign to encourage more employees to switch to a healthier diet, and to promote awareness of the importance of eating well.
According to the latest research in Malaysia, insufficient consumption of fruit is contributing to an unhealthy lifestyle and has resulted in increased incidence of diseases such as diabetes. Further research has shown that 2.6 million Malaysians aged 30 years and over have suffered from diabetes.
The Health, Safety & Environment team will continue to make employees aware of the need to maintain their health and well-being both in and outside the workplace.
