Indonesia opens new service centre
BlueScope Indonesia has held a ceremony to mark the inauguration of its first service centre facility at Cilegon. The US$5 million facility has a slitting and shearing line to offer customers a more flexible service, which will help increase BlueScope Indonesia’s market share and improve its competitive position.
“Although our business is facing a tough market, we are very positive conditions will soon recover,” said Simon Linge, Country President BlueScope Indonesia, speaking at the ceremony. “We believe the infrastructure and construction sector will benefit from the Government’s infrastructure projects. Our new service centre will ensure BlueScope is ready to support our customers and the economy.”
Also speaking at the ceremony, Sanjay Dayal, Chief Executive BlueScope Coated Products, noted that the facility was built and commissioned with zero lost time injuries. “We congratulate everyone involved for this achievement,” he said.
The event was attended by Paul Grigson, Australia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan, Director General Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics of the Ministry of Industry, Budi Irmawan, Director Basic Metal Materials Industry, Drs. Sumawijaya MSI, Region Assistant III of Banten, as well as a number of customers.
